CARRER DELS ESCUDELLERS
These pages are edited and designed extracts from a performance script used at PHONICA #6 in 2017. They partially document an audio-visual performance in which Christodoulos MAKRIS read aloud in (and out of) time with a narrated film screened on stage, producing a dialogue between a live and prerecorded voice. This experiment adapted and transformed another scripted performance, this time within a sculptural installation of text, which took place earlier that year. These pages, along with the works described, form part of an iterative body of artwork that incorporates ideas of architectural construction, psychological reconstruction, and writerly structure by figuring la Sagrada Familia in relation to post-traumatic experience. Other iterations of this work were presented at Xero Kline and Coma gallery, London; Supernormal music festival, Oxford—all in 2017. A digital album and booklet was released in 2020 by Cafe OTO on their digital label, Takuroku.

Roy Claire POTTER is an artist who works between performance and experimental writing. Their practice incorporates collaboration with musicians, moving image and drawing to study how subtext is produced in speaker-listener interactions, which they extend to readerly encounters with a page. Recent projects and collaborations have been commissioned for print and broadcast by Tate Britain and Tate Publishing, Reduced Listening (for BBC Radio3), and by Radiophrenia, Glasgow.
